Our top pick for Canadians: CoinbaseSign Up

BloFin, BTCC, MEXC and Bitunix also list it, but they are offshore, so read the labels before you consider them.

  1. Coinbase, 9.8: a large, familiar app with free Interac funding
  2. Kraken, 9.2: free Interac deposits and cheaper trading on Kraken Pro
  3. NDAX, 7.8: a low flat fee and free Interac or wire funding

I have been trading crypto in Canada since 2016 and I have tested 61 exchanges to find the best ways for Canadians to buy coins like this one, and I share what I find on my YouTube channel, OCryptoCanada, and in the r/OCryptoCanada community. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned trader, this guide will help you make a smart, informed decision.

Part of my guide to how to buy crypto in Canada.

Why Buy JasmyCoin (JASMY)?

JasmyCoin (JASMY) isn’t just another cryptocurrency, it’s the fuel for a blockchain focused on data privacy, IoT, and giving users control over their info. Canadians might be intrigued by its unique tech angle and growth potential, whether you’re in Vancouver or the Maritimes.

A quick heads-up: crypto investments are risky, so always weigh the ups and downs before jumping in. I am not quoting a live JASMY price here, since it would be out of date within hours. Check the order screen of your platform for the current CAD price, and judge any coin by what it does rather than by a chart. The facts below come from the project's own site, docs or whitepaper, or from the wallet vendor's own support pages.

Who Is Behind JasmyCoin?

JasmyCoin comes from Jasmy Incorporated, a Tokyo-based IoT platform company established on 5 April 2016 and led by CEO Kunitake Ando. Jasmy states that it holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification and PrivacyMark certification. Having a named company with a real office is different from an anonymous project, though it is not a guarantee of anything.

The company's mission is what it calls Data Democracy: returning control of personal data to individuals by combining IoT and blockchain technology. Its products include Secure PC, which controls data on a PC using blockchain and device control, and the Personal Data Locker, a blockchain-based platform for storing data and controlling how it is shared. In August 2024 Jasmy also launched NCCX, a beta carbon credit exchange for credits certified by the Natural Capital Credit Consortium, J-Credits and international voluntary credits, using blockchain to address falsification and double counting.

What Is The JASMY Token Used For?

JasmyCoin is described by the company as a transaction medium for its platform services, and in January 2022 Jasmy planned to integrate it into its Personal Data Locker solutions. Jasmy states that users of its IoT platform can receive JASMY in return for providing their personal data, and that it paid part of a football club sponsorship fee using JASMY. The company says JASMY was listed on the Japanese exchange BITPoint on 26 October 2021.

The token itself is an ERC-20 on Ethereum with a stated issue of 50,000,000,000 coins and the contract address 0x7420B4b9a0110cdC71fB720908340C03F9Bc03EC, according to Jasmy's own materials. I could not read the whitepaper PDFs, and I found no official page on vesting or unlocks, so I am not describing a release schedule.

What Risks Should You Weigh With JASMY?

The honest answer is that I could not find an official risk or audit statement from Jasmy, so the useful warnings come from wallet vendors. MetaMask warns users to obtain a token's contract address from a reliable source, to be wary of unfamiliar or airdropped tokens, and not to connect to websites they do not know. Add the usual ones: a token with a very large unit supply can be volatile, and the business value of a platform depends on products being adopted.

Where Can You Buy JasmyCoin (JASMY) In Canada?

These are the platforms on my scorecard whose asset lists include JASMY, in my fixed ranking order. Wealthsimple is left out because it publishes no coin list I can check, and I will not claim it carries JASMY. Bitbuy and Coinsquare are left out because new accounts are being folded into Robinhood.

Buy JasmyCoin (JASMY) On Crypto.com

Crypto.com serves Canadians through Foris DAX CAN ULC, a CSA Restricted Dealer. Its Canadian marketing says maker and taker fees run as low as 0.08% and 0.18%, but I could not retrieve its Canadian fee schedule, so treat that as a best case and read the order preview. Deposits by bank transfer, card or crypto are listed as zero-fee. Read my Crypto.com review.

How Do You Buy JasmyCoin (JASMY) In Canada Step By Step?

  1. Sign up to Coinbase. I use Coinbase here because it is the first CSA-registered platform in the table above that lists JASMY. Download the app or use the website.
  2. Verify your identity. Upload a government-issued ID and a selfie, and sometimes proof of address. Verification can take up to 24 hours, so do it before you plan to buy.
  3. Deposit Canadian dollars. Interac e-Transfer and bank EFT are free for adding cash on Coinbase, and card and PayPal also work for buying, but they usually cost more.
  4. Find JASMY. Search for the name and the ticker and check that both match. Some tickers are shared by unrelated coins, so confirm you picked JasmyCoin.
  5. Place the order. Use a market order for speed or a limit order if you want to name your price. Read the fee preview, because a simple buy can cost up to 1.875% plus the spread.
  6. Move long-term holdings to your own wallet. Check that the wallet supports JASMY and its network, and send a small test transfer first. My best crypto wallets for Canadians list covers the options.

Which Wallets Support JasmyCoin (JASMY), And How Do You Move It There?

Trezor states JasmyCoin is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum supported on the Trezor Safe 3, Safe 5 and Safe 7, usable in Trezor Suite or by syncing the device with MetaMask or Rabby. It describes the process as transferring JASMY from an exchange to the hardware wallet's receive address, which you check on the device screen before confirming.

MetaMask lets you add any ERC-20 token as a custom token by pasting its contract address under Manage tokens or Import tokens, and the symbol and decimals usually fill in automatically. Its guidance on receiving exchange withdrawals says to check which network the exchange used, to add that network to MetaMask if needed, to import non-native tokens by contract address, and that you need the network's native token for gas fees to move funds on. For JASMY that means a little ETH.

How Risky Is JasmyCoin (JASMY)?

Any coin outside the top few can fall hard and trade thinly, and JASMY is no exception. Thin trading means a wider gap between the buy and sell price, and that gap is a real cost on a small order. Buy only what you can lose, and decide in advance whether this is a trade or a long-term hold. I do not make price predictions, and nobody else can either.

How Do You Store JasmyCoin (JASMY)?

Keeping your JASMY safe is something you must do if you do not want to risk it being stolen. For safekeeping, use a private crypto wallet. Choose one of the crypto wallets I reviewed, and then send your JASMY from the exchange you used to buy it to your wallet. If you buy any valuable cryptocurrency, always move it to a private wallet to keep it secure. Check that the wallet supports the coin and its network first, because sending to an unsupported address can lose the funds for good. Write your recovery phrase on paper, never store it in a photo or a cloud note, and never share it with anyone, including anyone claiming to be support.

How Do You Sell JasmyCoin (JASMY) In Canada?

To sell, go to the exchange where you bought it. If your coins are in a wallet, send them back to the exchange first, then click sell. You can swap JASMY for another cryptocurrency, or sell it for Canadian dollars if the exchange offers that, and then withdraw to your bank account. Withdrawal fees and limits differ by platform. My guide on how to sell or cash out crypto in Canada has the full steps.

Do You Pay Tax When You Buy JasmyCoin (JASMY) In Canada?

Buying JASMY with Canadian dollars is not itself a taxable event. Selling it, swapping it for another coin or spending it can be. The CRA says that, depending on your activities, you may realize business income (or loss) or a capital gain (or loss), and the two are reported differently. Record the date and CAD value of every buy, sale and swap. See my crypto taxation guide and how to report your crypto taxes.

What Changed For Buying JasmyCoin (JASMY) In Canada In October 2026?

  • Kraken republished its fee schedule, with Pro spot starting at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker.
  • Coinbase launched regulated crypto derivatives for eligible Canadian investors through Coinbase Financial Markets. It is not a way to buy the coin itself.
  • The CSA issued a Restricted Dealer decision for Foris DAX CAN ULC, the entity behind Crypto.com in Canada.
