OCryptoCanada is written and run by me, Oleg Galeev, a Vancouver-based crypto trader. Every fact on the site links back to an official source, every page is rechecked on a schedule, and mistakes are corrected as soon as they are reported. Rankings, scores and first-person experience are mine; affiliate partners never review or approve content.
Who Writes OCryptoCanada?
I started OCryptoCanada to guide Canadians through crypto, and I write as someone who trades and holds crypto here. I run the OCryptoCanada YouTube channel, with over 7,000 subscribers, and the r/OCryptoCanada community. More about me is on my author page.
How Is Each Article Researched?
- Primary sources first: the platform’s own fee schedule, terms and help centre; the Canadian Securities Administrators, CIRO and FINTRAC registries; the CRA and Finance Canada for tax and policy.
- Unknown stays unknown: when a platform does not publish a number, I say so instead of estimating it.
- First-person only when true: I write “I tested” only about things I actually did. Everything else is reported as research, with the source.
- Tools: I use research and drafting tools, including AI, to gather sources, compare them against official pages and draft updates. The rankings, scores, recommendations and personal experience are mine.
How Often Is Content Updated?
Fees, coin listings, registration status and the dated “what changed” sections are rechecked on the first of every month. Comparisons, reviews and the Canadian Crypto Fee Index are rebuilt from that data, and pages show the date they were last updated.
How Do I Correct Mistakes?
If you spot something wrong or out of date, send it through the contact form or email info@ocryptocanada.ca. I check the claim against its source, fix the page, and when the change affects a score or a recommendation, it is noted on how I score exchanges and wallets.
How Does OCryptoCanada Make Money?
Some links earn a commission when you sign up or buy, at no extra cost to you. That never decides a ranking: platforms cannot pay for a position, several wallets I rate highly have no affiliate link, and platforms that stop serving Canadians lose their sign-up links no matter what they paid before. Details are in my affiliate disclaimer.
What Do I Never Do?
- Publish invented reviews, ratings or statistics.
- Sell positions in rankings.
- Recommend using a VPN to get around a platform’s restrictions on Canadians, which violates their terms and puts your funds at risk.
- Give personal financial or tax advice: this site is education, not advice.
Where Has OCryptoCanada Been Featured?
The Toronto Sun covered OCryptoCanada in March 2022, describing it as “a website created by Vancouver resident Oleg Galeev” to guide Canadians interested in the cryptocurrency market, and quoting my advice on avoiding crypto scams.
