To buy Injective (INJ) in Canada, open an account on a CSA-registered exchange that lists it, verify your ID, deposit Canadian dollars and place the order. On my scorecard that means Coinbase (9.8), Kraken (9.2) and NDAX (7.8), and 1 more in the table below.
BloFin, MEXC and Bitunix also list it, but they are offshore, so read the labels before you consider them.
I have been trading crypto in Canada since 2016 and I have tested 61 exchanges to find the best ways for Canadians to buy coins like this one, and I share what I find on my YouTube channel, OCryptoCanada, and in the r/OCryptoCanada community. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned trader, this guide will help you make a smart, informed decision.

Part of my guide to how to buy crypto in Canada.
Why Buy Injective (INJ)?
Injective (INJ) isn’t just another cryptocurrency, it’s the driving force behind a decentralized trading platform with low fees, spot, and futures markets. Canadians might be hooked by its DeFi potential and staking rewards, whether you’re in Calgary or the Maritimes.
A quick heads-up: crypto investments are risky, so always weigh the ups and downs before jumping in. I am not quoting a live INJ price here, since it would be out of date within hours. Check the order screen of your platform for the current CAD price, and judge any coin by what it does rather than by a chart. The facts below come from the project's own site, docs or whitepaper, or from the wallet vendor's own support pages.
What Is Injective, And What Does INJ Do?
Injective describes itself as a layer-one blockchain built for finance, with sub-second finality, built-in DeFi primitives and cross-chain interoperability. The mainnet chain ID is injective-1 with a block time around 580ms, and its EVM chain ID is 1776. INJ pays all transaction fees and is staked by validators and delegators to secure the network. The base unit is the atto, so 1 inj equals 1x10^-18 INJ, matching Ethereum's wei.
INJ is also the governance token. It is used to create proposals and vote, only staked INJ votes (1 INJ equals 1 vote), and it governs modules such as the auction, exchange and oracle modules and software upgrades. A proposal needs a 10 INJ initial deposit and 100 INJ in total to reach voting. Voting lasts four days, and the docs require 33.4% quorum and 50% yes votes. Governance deposits are burned if quorum is missed, the minimum deposit is not reached, or 33.4% vote NoWithVeto.
How Does INJ Burn Work?
Injective documents that 60% of exchange fees go through on-chain buy-back-and-burn auctions that reduce supply. The auction now runs as a monthly (28-day) Community Buyback, where participants commit INJ that is permanently burned and receive a pro rata share of ecosystem revenue. The older winner-take-all model was replaced. I did not find a stated supply cap in the official pages I read, so I am not claiming one.
How Does Staking INJ Work, And What Is The Risk?
Staking means delegating INJ to validators. Staked INJ is subject to slashing for validator misconduct, so choosing a validator is a real decision. Validators earn newly minted INJ and fees, and delegators earn rewards minus the validator's commission. Unstaking takes 21 days, redelegating to another validator skips the wait, and rewards can be claimed at any time through Injective Hub.
Injective documents bridging into the chain from 23 or more networks through the Injective Bridge, IBC, Ethereum, Solana and Wormhole. There is also wINJ, a 1:1 ERC-20 wrapper at 0x0000000088827d2d103ee2d9A6b781773AE03FfB for dApps that accept only ERC-20 tokens. Every bridge you use is another contract between you and your coins.
Where Can You Buy Injective (INJ) In Canada?
These are the platforms on my scorecard whose asset lists include INJ, in my fixed ranking order. Wealthsimple is left out because it publishes no coin list I can check, and I will not claim it carries INJ. Bitbuy and Coinsquare are left out because new accounts are being folded into Robinhood.

Coinbase and Crypto.com publish one global coin list, not a Canadian one. Check the coin in their Canadian app before you fund an account.
Asset lists differ by region and change over time, so confirm that INJ shows up in the app before you fund an account.

Buy Injective (INJ) On BloFin

BloFin lists INJ, with spot fees of 0.1% and no CAD funding. Its Terms of Use name Canada as a restricted location, so a Canadian account would break them. Read my BloFin review.
Buy Injective (INJ) On Kraken
Kraken is also a CSA Restricted Dealer, and Interac e-Transfer deposits are free. Instant Buy costs 1%, while Kraken Pro starts at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker, so anyone buying more than a token amount should switch to Pro. Read my Kraken review.

Buy Injective (INJ) On Crypto.com
Crypto.com serves Canadians through Foris DAX CAN ULC, a CSA Restricted Dealer. Its Canadian marketing says maker and taker fees run as low as 0.08% and 0.18%, but I could not retrieve its Canadian fee schedule, so treat that as a best case and read the order preview. Deposits by bank transfer, card or crypto are listed as zero-fee. Read my Crypto.com review.
How Do You Buy Injective (INJ) In Canada Step By Step?
- Sign up to Coinbase. I use Coinbase here because it is the first CSA-registered platform in the table above that lists INJ. Download the app or use the website.
- Verify your identity. Upload a government-issued ID and a selfie, and sometimes proof of address. Verification can take up to 24 hours, so do it before you plan to buy.
- Deposit Canadian dollars. Interac e-Transfer and bank EFT are free for adding cash on Coinbase, and card and PayPal also work for buying, but they usually cost more.
- Find INJ. Search for the name and the ticker and check that both match. Some tickers are shared by unrelated coins, so confirm you picked Injective.
- Place the order. Use a market order for speed or a limit order if you want to name your price. Read the fee preview, because a simple buy can cost up to 1.875% plus the spread.
- Move long-term holdings to your own wallet. Check that the wallet supports INJ and its network, and send a small test transfer first. My best crypto wallets for Canadians list covers the options.
Which Wallets Support Injective (INJ), And How Do You Move It There?
Injective addresses use the inj1 bech32 prefix and can be converted to Ethereum 0x addresses, because keys use Ethereum's secp256k1 ECDSA curve. The docs list MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor and Torus (Ethereum-based), Cosmostation, Keplr and Leap (Cosmos), Ninji (native), plus Bitget and OKX wallets. Ledger also publishes an official support article on connecting a Ledger device to the Injective Hub for INJ.
When you withdraw from an exchange, check whether it sends to an inj1 address or an Ethereum-style address, and match that to the wallet you have set up. Send a small test first.
How Risky Is Injective (INJ)?
Any coin outside the top few can fall hard and trade thinly, and INJ is no exception. Thin trading means a wider gap between the buy and sell price, and that gap is a real cost on a small order. Buy only what you can lose, and decide in advance whether this is a trade or a long-term hold. I do not make price predictions, and nobody else can either.
How Do You Store Injective (INJ)?
Keeping your INJ safe is something you must do if you do not want to risk it being stolen. For safekeeping, use a private crypto wallet. Choose one of the crypto wallets I reviewed, and then send your INJ from the exchange you used to buy it to your wallet. If you buy any valuable cryptocurrency, always move it to a private wallet to keep it secure. Check that the wallet supports the coin and its network first, because sending to an unsupported address can lose the funds for good. Write your recovery phrase on paper, never store it in a photo or a cloud note, and never share it with anyone, including anyone claiming to be support.
How Do You Sell Injective (INJ) In Canada?
To sell, go to the exchange where you bought it. If your coins are in a wallet, send them back to the exchange first, then click sell. You can swap INJ for another cryptocurrency, or sell it for Canadian dollars if the exchange offers that, and then withdraw to your bank account. Withdrawal fees and limits differ by platform. My guide on how to sell or cash out crypto in Canada has the full steps.
Do You Pay Tax When You Buy Injective (INJ) In Canada?
Buying INJ with Canadian dollars is not itself a taxable event. Selling it, swapping it for another coin or spending it can be. The CRA says that, depending on your activities, you may realize business income (or loss) or a capital gain (or loss), and the two are reported differently. Record the date and CAD value of every buy, sale and swap. See my crypto taxation guide and how to report your crypto taxes.
What Changed For Buying Injective (INJ) In Canada In October 2026?
- Kraken republished its fee schedule, with Pro spot starting at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker.
- Coinbase launched regulated crypto derivatives for eligible Canadian investors through Coinbase Financial Markets. It is not a way to buy the coin itself.
- The CSA issued a Restricted Dealer decision for Foris DAX CAN ULC, the entity behind Crypto.com in Canada.
