The SecuX V20 is a USD 99 Bluetooth touchscreen wallet with a MetaMask link; the Trezor Safe 7 is a USD 249 three-chip device with open firmware. The honest difference: you can verify Trezor's code and read its incident record, while SecuX shows much less either way.

What Happens If You Lose Your SecuX V20 Or Trezor Safe 7?
SecuX V20: Your coins are recorded on the blockchain, not stored inside the device. Recovery depends on the backup: recovery phrase; X-SEED metal backup sold separately; hidden wallet and passphrase listed. Keep that backup offline and never type it into a website or app.
Trezor Safe 7: Your coins are recorded on the blockchain, not stored inside the device. Recovery depends on the backup: 12-, 20- and 24-word backup; Advanced multi-share backup (Shamir). Keep that backup offline and never type it into a website or app. 6 security issues are on record for the maker, the latest on 2026-09-09 (Brevo newsletter provider breach, phishing from Trezor's address).

Which Is More Secure, SecuX Or Trezor?
The Trezor Safe 7 is built around verifiability. Three chips from three vendors (the auditable TROPIC01, an NDA-free EAL6+ Optiga secure element and an STM32U5 microcontroller), open-source firmware with a public changelog and signed binaries on GitHub, and a claim, Trezor's own, that it is the first hardware wallet using post-quantum cryptography for firmware updates, device authentication and boot. The SecuX V20 uses one Infineon SLE 97 secure element rated CC EAL5+, and its product page does not say whether the code is open source. My own earlier review found it closed, which is my finding rather than SecuX's statement.
The Safe 7 has a public record that is easy to find, and not spotless. On June 3, 2026 a laser attack on its TROPIC01 chip was disclosed; it needs possession, chip decapsulation and lab gear, and Trezor says the PIN, funds and backup are not exposed because that chip is one of three layers, with a later chip revision planned (Trezor's response). Around it sit customer-data incidents: the 2024 support portal breach, the August 13, 2026 ShipMonk breach and the September 9, 2026 Brevo newsletter incident. Can a Trezor wallet be hacked remotely? There is no remote key theft on that record; the data incidents are phishing risks, which is why Trezor says it never contacts you about your backup.
For SecuX I found no dated, sourced incident, CVE or audit on a primary page. Read that carefully. It might reflect a clean history, or it might reflect a vendor that publishes less and gets probed less. I will not call it either.
Which Is Easier To Use?
Both are Bluetooth and USB-C touchscreen devices. The V20 has an LCD touchscreen with dynamic PIN entry, a 600 mAh built-in battery and WalletConnect 2.0 plus a QR-based MetaMask integration; the SecuX web app runs on desktop and there is a mobile app. The Safe 7 has a 2.5 inch colour touchscreen at 520 x 380 and 700 nits, with haptic feedback, a 330 mAh LiFePO4 battery with overheat protection and Qi2 wireless charging. Trezor Suite covers Android, Mac, Windows and Linux with full iOS compatibility. The Safe 7 is an aluminium unibody, IP54, 45 g.
If you are comfortable with MetaMask, SecuX's integration is natural. If you want the larger ecosystem of 30+ third-party apps and community guides, Trezor is the safer pick for support.
Which Wallet Is Safest For Storing XRP?
I cannot answer from a spec sheet, because neither maker's page I fetched names XRP. Trezor says thousands of coins and tokens; SecuX says 10,000+ coins and tokens with NFT support. Can XRP be stored on Trezor? Check Trezor Suite's coin list before buying. I keep XRP, with ETH and SOL, on a Trezor Safe 7 and a Tangem card, so for me the open firmware and passphrase decided it. For a wallet where XRP is named on the product page, look at the Ledger Flex.
Which Costs Less In Canada?
SecuX: USD 99, and it advertises 10% off for newsletter signups (the affiliate link's own discount was not separately visible). Trezor Safe 7: USD 249, with the Safe 5 at USD 129 and Safe 3 at USD 59 as cheaper family options. Canada: SecuX ships internationally, with Turkey, China, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Vietnam excluded, but does not name Canada and says customs and duties are the customer's responsibility. Trezor says any country in its checkout drop-down is served and lists Amazon Canada as an authorised reseller. For courier shipments from outside the US and Mexico, the CBSA duty-free limit is CAD 20.

How Do They Work With Canadian Exchanges?
Both give you a normal address. On Coinbase use "Sending to myself". Kraken shows the Travel Rule pop-up above CAD 1,000 and Kraken-to-Kraken withdrawals are not permitted. Shakepay supports external wallet sends, normal speed in 1 to 12 hours with Shakepay covering fees, and sends are irreversible, so test small. FINTRAC's travel rule has applied since June 1, 2021. Transfers between your own wallets are not a disposition per the CRA. More in crypto taxation in Canada.
What Is The Most Trusted Cold Wallet, And Which Should You Choose?
Trust is earned in the open, and Trezor is the one that shows its work: open code, a public changelog and disclosed incidents. That is why the Safe 7 is number 1 in my top 7. SecuX V20 is number 6, and a fair buy if USD 99 is your ceiling and you want MetaMask pairing. Choose Trezor if you want transparency; choose SecuX if you want the lowest price. Trezor discloses a ShipMonk shipping-provider data breach; devices and keys were not affected.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Is The Most Trusted Cold Wallet?
No wallet is a guarantee. I weigh open code, audits and how a maker handles problems. The Trezor Safe 7 is my number 1 for that reason; SecuX V20 is number 6.
Can A Trezor Wallet Be Hacked?
No remote key theft is on record. A June 2026 laser attack on the Safe 7's TROPIC01 chip needs possession and lab gear, and Trezor says funds are not exposed. Customer-data incidents in 2024 and 2026 make phishing the real risk.
Which Wallet Is The Safest For Storing XRP?
Neither maker's product page I fetched names XRP. Check Trezor Suite or the SecuX app before buying. I keep XRP on my own Trezor and Tangem setup.
Can XRP Be Stored On Trezor?
Trezor lists thousands of coins and tokens but the product pages I checked do not name XRP. Confirm in Trezor Suite first.
Does SecuX Ship To Canada?
SecuX ships internationally and Canada is not on its excluded list, but Canada is not named and customs duties are the buyer's responsibility.
Which Is Cheaper, The SecuX V20 Or The Trezor Safe 7?
SecuX V20: USD 99. Trezor Safe 7: USD 249.
Do The SecuX V20 And The Trezor Safe 7 Ship To Canada?
SecuX V20: yes: international shipping offered; excluded countries are Turkey, China, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Vietnam; free shipping over USD 99 banner (USD 150 in shipping text). Trezor Safe 7: not stated; Amazon Canada is listed as an authorised reseller.
