To buy Highstreet (HIGH) in Canada, open an account on a CSA-registered exchange that lists it, verify your ID, deposit Canadian dollars and place the order. On my scorecard that means Coinbase (9.8).
MEXC also lists it, but it is offshore, so read the labels before you consider it.
- Coinbase, 9.8: a large, familiar app with free Interac funding
I have been trading crypto in Canada since 2016 and I have tested 61 exchanges to find the best ways for Canadians to buy coins like this one, and I share what I find on my YouTube channel, OCryptoCanada, and in the r/OCryptoCanada community. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned trader, this guide will help you make a smart, informed decision.

Part of my guide to how to buy crypto in Canada.
Why Buy Highstreet (HIGH)?
Highstreet (HIGH) isn’t just another crypto, it’s the gateway to Highstreet World, a metaverse blending shopping, gaming, and NFTs in a play-to-earn MMORPG. Canadians might be hooked on its “phygital” products (physical items tied to digital tokens) and governance perks, whether you’re chilling in Vancouver or out on the Prairies.
A quick heads-up: crypto investments are risky, so always weigh the ups and downs before jumping in. I am not quoting a live HIGH price here, since it would be out of date within hours. Check the order screen of your platform for the current CAD price, and judge any coin by what it does rather than by a chart. The facts below come from the project's own site, docs or whitepaper, or from the wallet vendor's own support pages.
What Is Highstreet, And Which Website Is Real?
Highstreet describes itself as blending retail with gaming, a multifaceted metaverse combining shopping with gameplay and virtual real estate ownership. A practical warning first: highstreet.io is an unrelated eCommerce software company. The crypto project's official site is highstreet.market, so check the address before you connect a wallet to anything.
HIGH is the in-game currency used to buy in-game assets, marketplace items and phygital products in Highstreet World. The tokenomics page lists its uses as marketplace purchases, real estate ownership, governance participation and staking rewards. The whitepaper adds that players cannot farm HIGH through gameplay. Play-to-earn comes from crafting NFTs and selling them on secondary markets, and the project says it is in development and its information is in constant evolution.
How Does The HIGH Supply And Allocation Look?
HIGH has a fixed supply of 100 million tokens, while the second token, STREET, is inflationary and grows with player count. STREET is the activity-based currency earned through monster hunting, quests and tutorials, though the tokenomics page still describes it as available soon.
The official distribution is Private Sales 32.84%, Play-to-Earn 30.00%, Ecosystem Reserves 9.50%, Treasury 9.16%, Team 8.00%, Marketing and Partnerships 4.00%, Public Sales through IDOs 2.50%, Advisors 2.00%, Early Investors 1.00% and Binance Launchpool 1.00%. The page refers to a HIGH Token Release Schedule and a Token Economy document for vesting detail but does not itself state unlock dates, so I cannot tell you when any tranche unlocks. A large private-sale share is a reason to read that schedule yourself.
What Do Staking And Governance Look Like Now?
The design is that holders who stake HIGH into pools earn transaction fees, and property owners receive tax payouts in HIGH. HIGH holders take part in island governance decisions, and the whitepaper says holders can create and vote on proposals with weight proportional to staked tokens. The About page says the project is backed by Binance Labs, Animoca Brands, HTC, Jump Capital and HTX Ventures, among others. Note that the Highstreet site currently displays a notice that the staking period has ended and holders should check the My Portal page for their seeds, so do not assume the staking described in the whitepaper is live.
Where Can You Buy Highstreet (HIGH) In Canada?
These are the platforms on my scorecard whose asset lists include HIGH, in my fixed ranking order. Wealthsimple is left out because it publishes no coin list I can check, and I will not claim it carries HIGH. Bitbuy and Coinsquare are left out because new accounts are being folded into Robinhood.
| Exchange | Canadian Status | Published Fee | CAD Funding | My Rank | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | CSA-registered (Restricted Dealer) | Up to 1.875% on simple buys, plus spread | Free Interac e-Transfer and EFT | #1 | Buy HIGH |
| MEXC | Offshore, terms prohibit Canada | 0% maker / 0.05% taker | No CAD funding verified | #9 | Buy HIGH |
Coinbase and Crypto.com publish one global coin list, not a Canadian one. Check the coin in their Canadian app before you fund an account.
Asset lists differ by region and change over time, so confirm that HIGH shows up in the app before you fund an account.
Buy Highstreet (HIGH) On Coinbase
Coinbase is a CSA Restricted Dealer, which makes it the easiest registered place to start. Interac e-Transfer and bank EFT are free for adding Canadian dollars. A simple buy costs up to 1.875% plus the spread, depending on how you pay, so compare the final quote against your other options before you confirm. Read my Coinbase review.
Buy Highstreet (HIGH) On MEXC
Offshore Not registered with the Canadian Securities Administrators, and its terms of service restrict Canadian residents. No Canadian investor protection applies. It attracts people hunting small-cap altcoins, but I do not recommend it for Canadians.
MEXC lists HIGH, with spot fees of 0% maker and 0.05% taker and no verified CAD funding. Its User Agreement, last updated May 29, 2025, names Canada as a prohibited jurisdiction. Read my MEXC review.
How Do You Buy Highstreet (HIGH) In Canada Step By Step?
- Sign up to Coinbase. I use Coinbase here because it is the first CSA-registered platform in the table above that lists HIGH. Download the app or use the website.
- Verify your identity. Upload a government-issued ID and a selfie, and sometimes proof of address. Verification can take up to 24 hours, so do it before you plan to buy.
- Deposit Canadian dollars. Interac e-Transfer and bank EFT are free for adding cash on Coinbase, and card and PayPal also work for buying, but they usually cost more.
- Find HIGH. Search for the name and the ticker and check that both match. Some tickers are shared by unrelated coins, so confirm you picked Highstreet.
- Place the order. Use a market order for speed or a limit order if you want to name your price. Read the fee preview, because a simple buy can cost up to 1.875% plus the spread.
- Move long-term holdings to your own wallet. Check that the wallet supports HIGH and its network, and send a small test transfer first. My best crypto wallets for Canadians list covers the options.
Which Wallets Support Highstreet (HIGH), And How Do You Move It There?
The whitepaper lists HIGH on Ethereum as an ERC-20 at 0x71Ab77b7dbB4fa7e017BC15090b2163221420282 and on BNB Smart Chain as a BEP-20 at 0x5f4Bde007Dc06b867f86EBFE4802e34A1fFEEd63. Trezor lists Highstreet support on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain for the Trezor Safe 7, Safe 5 and Safe 3, usable through Trezor Suite, MetaMask and Rabby. Trust Wallet's Highstreet page lists HIGH on the Ethereum network with the same contract address and says it can be added to Trust Wallet.
Both networks use 0x-style addresses and I found no memo or tag documented, so the main risk is picking the wrong network. Withdraw on the same network as your receiving address and token contract, and send a small test first.
How Risky Is Highstreet (HIGH)?
Any coin outside the top few can fall hard and trade thinly, and HIGH is no exception. Thin trading means a wider gap between the buy and sell price, and that gap is a real cost on a small order. Buy only what you can lose, and decide in advance whether this is a trade or a long-term hold. I do not make price predictions, and nobody else can either.
How Do You Store Highstreet (HIGH)?
Keeping your HIGH safe is something you must do if you do not want to risk it being stolen. For safekeeping, use a private crypto wallet. Choose one of the crypto wallets I reviewed, and then send your HIGH from the exchange you used to buy it to your wallet. If you buy any valuable cryptocurrency, always move it to a private wallet to keep it secure. Check that the wallet supports the coin and its network first, because sending to an unsupported address can lose the funds for good. Write your recovery phrase on paper, never store it in a photo or a cloud note, and never share it with anyone, including anyone claiming to be support.
How Do You Sell Highstreet (HIGH) In Canada?
To sell, go to the exchange where you bought it. If your coins are in a wallet, send them back to the exchange first, then click sell. You can swap HIGH for another cryptocurrency, or sell it for Canadian dollars if the exchange offers that, and then withdraw to your bank account. Withdrawal fees and limits differ by platform. My guide on how to sell or cash out crypto in Canada has the full steps.
Do You Pay Tax When You Buy Highstreet (HIGH) In Canada?
Buying HIGH with Canadian dollars is not itself a taxable event. Selling it, swapping it for another coin or spending it can be. The CRA says that, depending on your activities, you may realize business income (or loss) or a capital gain (or loss), and the two are reported differently. Record the date and CAD value of every buy, sale and swap. See my crypto taxation guide and how to report your crypto taxes.
What Changed For Buying Highstreet (HIGH) In Canada In October 2026?
- Coinbase launched regulated crypto derivatives for eligible Canadian investors through Coinbase Financial Markets. It is not a way to buy the coin itself.
- Robinhood closed its WonderFi acquisition, and Coinsquare customers are being moved in phases to the Robinhood app, so I no longer point new buyers to Coinsquare or Bitbuy.
- MEXC updated its User Agreement, and Canada is named as a prohibited jurisdiction.
