To buy DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) in Canada, open an account on a CSA-registered exchange that lists it, verify your ID, add Canadian dollars and place a buy order. Coinbase (9.8), Kraken (9.2) and Crypto.com carry DEEP and are registered with the Canadian Securities Administrators.
BloFin, MEXC, Bitunix also list it but are offshore, so read the labels in the table first.
- Coinbase, 9.8: first-time buyers who want a regulated, simple app
- Kraken, 9.2: beginners who want to learn, then cheaper trading on kraken pro
- Crypto.com: a broad app with a crypto card

Part of my guide to how to buy crypto in Canada.
What Is DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)?
DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) isn’t your everyday crypto, it’s the fuel for a decentralized central limit order book (CLOB) on the Sui blockchain, offering high-speed, low-latency DeFi trading. Canadians might be hooked on its cutting-edge tech and staking potential, whether you’re chilling in Vancouver or out on the Prairies. Quick note: DeFi tokens like DEEP can be volatile, so scope out its market trends before leaping in!
I am not quoting a live DEEP price here, since it would be out of date within hours. Check the order screen of your platform for the current CAD price, and compare it with the final quote that includes the platform's fee or spread.
Where Can You Buy DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) In Canada?
These are the platforms on my scorecard whose asset lists include DEEP, in my fixed order. I checked each against the exchange's own listing data in October 2026. Platforms that do not appear here did not show DEEP on their asset list, and I only recommend exchanges that do.
| Exchange | Canadian Status | Published Fee | CAD Funding | My Rank | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | CSA-registered (Restricted Dealer) | Up to 1.875% on simple buys, plus spread | Free Interac e-Transfer and EFT | #1 | Buy DEEP |
| BloFin | Offshore, terms prohibit Canada | 0.1% spot | No CAD funding | #2 | Buy DEEP |
| Kraken | CSA-registered (Restricted Dealer) | Kraken Pro 0.40% maker / 0.80% taker; Instant Buy 1% | Free Interac e-Transfer deposits | #3 | Buy DEEP |
| MEXC | Offshore, terms prohibit Canada | 0% maker / 0.05% taker | No CAD funding verified | #9 | Buy DEEP |
| Bitunix | Offshore, terms prohibit Canada | See Bitunix fee page | No CAD funding | Not ranked | Buy DEEP |
| Crypto.com | CSA-registered (Restricted Dealer) | Not published for Canada | Not verified | Not ranked | Buy DEEP |
Coinbase and Crypto.com publish one global coin list, not a Canadian one. Check the coin in their Canadian app before you fund an account.
Which Registered Exchanges Carry DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)?
Coinbase For DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)
9.8/10CSA-registered Coinbase is a CSA Restricted Dealer in all provinces and territories and ranks first on my scorecard at 9.8. Interac e-Transfer and bank EFT are free for adding cash. A simple buy carries a spread plus a Coinbase fee of up to 1.875% depending on payment method, which is about $9.38 on a $500 buy. Custodial Canadian dollar balances are not covered by CIPF or CDIC.
Kraken For DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)
9.2/10CSA-registered Kraken is a CSA Restricted Dealer and ranks third at 9.2. Interac e-Transfer deposits are free. On Kraken Pro the entry tier is 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker, so a $500 taker buy costs $4.00 and a maker order costs $2.00. Instant Buy is 1%, or $5.00 plus spread. An Interac withdrawal costs CAD 10.
Crypto.com For DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)
CSA-registered Crypto.com is a CSA Restricted Dealer through its Canadian entity and I have not scored it. Bank transfer and card deposits are zero-fee, but the Canadian fee schedule is not published, so I cannot give you a cost on a $500 buy. Check the quote in the app before you confirm.
What About The Offshore Exchanges?
Offshore BloFin, MEXC, Bitunix list DEEP but are not registered with the Canadian Securities Administrators, and their terms of service restrict Canadian residents. No Canadian investor protection applies. I could not verify Canadian dollar funding on any of them, so you would need to bring crypto from somewhere else. They suit experienced traders who accept that risk; beginners should stay on a registered platform.
How Do You Buy DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) In Canada Step By Step?
These steps use Coinbase, the first CSA-registered exchange in the table.
- Sign up at Coinbase. Use the link in the table, then upload a government-issued ID and a selfie, and sometimes proof of address. Verification can take up to 24 hours.
- Deposit Canadian dollars. On Coinbase, Interac e-Transfer or bank EFT is free to add cash. A bank deposit usually avoids the extra cost of a card.
- Search for DEEP. Open the trade or buy screen and look for DEEP. Check the ticker carefully, because tokens with similar names exist.
- Place the order. Use a market order for speed or a limit order if you want to name your price. Read the fee preview before you confirm.
- Move long-term holdings to your own wallet. Try a small test transfer first. My best crypto wallets for Canadians list covers the options.
Cards are the quickest way to fund, but they usually cost more than a bank deposit, and Canadian banks sometimes block them.
What Is DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) Used For?
DeepBookV3 is described in the Sui documentation as a next-generation decentralised central limit order book (CLOB) built on Sui that uses Sui's parallel execution and low transaction fees to bring a high-performance, low-latency exchange on chain. DEEP is its token. According to the documentation, DEEP pays for trading fees on the exchange, and you can stake it for additional benefits.
Users can pay trading fees in DEEP or in the input tokens of the trade. Governance sets the fee for paying in DEEP at 20% lower than the fee for paying in input tokens.
How Does DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) Work?
Fees and incentives run pool by pool. Users who stake DEEP can get taker and maker incentives: the taker incentive halves trading fees, dropping them as low as 0.25 basis points on stable pairs and 2.5 basis points on volatile pairs, and the maker incentive is a rebate earned according to maker volume. To qualify for volume-based fee programs and maker incentives, a trader must stake a minimum number of DEEP on the pool in advance for the epoch. These stakes earn no explicit rewards.
The DEEP token also enables pool-level governance. Stakers in a pool govern that pool, adjusting the taker baseline fee, the maker fee and the minimum staking requirement. Governance rights grow with stake, but at a square-root rate past a threshold, which the docs say gives small participants a stronger voice and limits capture by large holders.
What Are The Risks Of Holding DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)?
- Supply schedule: the documentation states a maximum supply of 10 billion DEEP, with 25% unlocked at genesis and the rest released over seven years, so new tokens continue to enter the market on a schedule.
- Staking earns no rewards by itself: the minimum stake is a requirement for incentives, not an income stream.
- Smart contract risk: DeepBook is on-chain code on Sui and can contain bugs.
- Market risk: the documentation makes no promise of returns.
Which Wallets Support DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)?
DEEP lives on Sui, so you need a Sui wallet. Sui's documentation names Slush as the official Sui wallet built by Mysten Labs, available as a Chrome extension, an iOS app, an Android app and a web app. The Sui site also lists wallets including Backpack, Ledger, Nightly, OKX, Suiet, Surf Wallet and WalletConnect-compatible wallets. Ledger is a hardware wallet that can be connected through a compatible Sui wallet such as Slush.
How Do You Move DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) From An Exchange To A Wallet?
- Install a Sui wallet such as Slush and write down the recovery phrase offline.
- Copy your Sui address from the receive screen.
- On the exchange, withdraw DEEP and choose the Sui network. Do not pick another chain that carries a wrapped token.
- Keep some SUI in the wallet, because network fees on Sui are paid in SUI.
- Send a small test amount first, wait for it to arrive, then send the rest.
What Should You Check Before Buying DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)?
- The ticker and network. Many tokens share names or tickers with copies, and the same coin can exist on more than one network. Confirm both before you pay.
- The listing itself. Open the asset page on the exchange and confirm that DEEP is tradable against Canadian dollars, or that you will need to buy another coin first and swap.
- The all-in price. Compare the quote on the order screen with the exchange's fee schedule. A spread is part of the cost, even when the fee line says zero.
- Withdrawal rules. Some platforms set minimums, fees or hold periods on withdrawals to your own wallet, so read them before you deposit a large amount.
- Your records. Save the date, amount and CAD value of every purchase. You will need them at tax time.
How Do You Store DeepBook Protocol (DEEP)?
For short-term trading, leaving DEEP on a registered exchange is fine. For long-term holding, move it to a secure crypto wallet. Exchanges can get hacked, and I have seen it go south. A hardware wallet like Ledger, or a software wallet that supports DEEP, keeps it safer. Check the wallet's asset list and network before you send anything, and stash that seed phrase somewhere secure (not your phone!).
How Do You Sell DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) In Canada?
To sell, go to the exchange where you hold it. If your coins are in a wallet, send them back to the exchange first, then place a sell order. You can swap DEEP for another cryptocurrency or sell it for Canadian dollars if the platform offers that, then withdraw to your bank account. Withdrawal fees differ by platform (Kraken charges CAD 10 for an Interac withdrawal). My guide on how to sell or cash out crypto in Canada has the full steps.
Is DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) A Good Investment For Canadians?
DEEP’s high-speed DeFi trading potential is exciting, but markets swing, only risk what you’re okay with losing. Nobody can tell you where the price goes next, and I do not make predictions. If you buy, size the position so a drop does not hurt, and remember that smaller tokens can be thin to trade, which widens the spread when you sell.
Do You Pay Tax When You Buy DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) In Canada?
Buying DEEP with Canadian dollars is not itself a taxable event. Selling it, swapping it for another coin or spending it can be. The CRA says that, depending on your activities, you may realize business income (or loss) or a capital gain (or loss), and the two are reported differently. Record the date and CAD value of every buy, sale and swap. See my crypto taxation guide and how to report your crypto taxes.
What Changed For Buying DeepBook Protocol (DEEP) In Canada In October 2026?
- Kraken republished its fee schedule, with Pro spot starting at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker.
- Coinbase launched regulated crypto derivatives for eligible Canadian investors. It is not open to ordinary retail accounts.
- The CSA issued an amended decision for Coinbase Canada Inc.
