The Ledger Nano X is small, Bluetooth-enabled and $70 cheaper, with Canadian resellers. The ELLIPAL Titan is a heavier fully air-gapped QR device with a 4 inch colour screen and a 2019 research finding on its record.
Ledger Nano X Vs ELLIPAL Titan: Which Is Better For Canadians?
Neither the Ledger Nano X nor the ELLIPAL Titan 2.0 is on my top 7 list, so the choice comes down to the features below. My #1 wallet pick overall is the Trezor Safe 7 (9.6/10).
What Happens If You Lose Your Ledger Nano X Or ELLIPAL Titan 2.0?
Ledger Nano X: Your coins are recorded on the blockchain, not stored inside the device. Recovery depends on the backup: recovery sheets; optional Ledger Recover. Keep that backup offline and never type it into a website or app. 7 security issues are on record for the maker, the latest on 2026-08-27 (Security Bulletins 023, 024, 025: signing-review bypasses).
ELLIPAL Titan 2.0: Your coins are recorded on the blockchain, not stored inside the device. Recovery depends on the backup: create 24-word seed; recover 12/15/18/21/24-word. Keep that backup offline and never type it into a website or app. 1 security issue is on record for the maker, the latest on 2019-06-25 (Ledger Donjon seed extraction from Ellipal).

Which Is More Secure, Ledger Nano X Or ELLIPAL Titan?
The two devices solve the same problem in opposite ways. The Nano X is a Bluetooth device with a CC EAL5+ secure element and a small 1.1 inch monochrome OLED. The ELLIPAL Titan is a fully air-gapped device with no WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB data port or SD slot: it talks to your phone only through QR codes, on a 4 inch colour IPS touchscreen. It has a CC EAL5+ secure chip and a full metal sealed body with a self-destruct auto-wipe on tampering or disassembly.
If your threat is a compromised phone or a wireless attack, the air gap is hard to beat, because there is no radio to attack. The Nano X's Bluetooth link is encrypted, and it needs a connection to talk to your phone. The trade for the Titan is that there are no open-source claims anywhere in what I fetched, and a bigger body.
Records. Titan: in June 2019, Ledger Donjon found several flaws in ELLIPAL, including one allowing an attacker with physical access to extract the seed, and others allowing backdoors for supply-chain or evil-maid attacks. The fix path was a responsible disclosure to the maker, and I could not source what the fix covered, so treat the 2019 result as historical and the current Titan 2.0 as a replacement device (the original Titan is no longer listed). The write-up is on Ledger's blog, so remember that Ledger is a competitor. Nano X: Bulletin 021 fixed in Nano X 2.4.2, the 2023 Connect Kit supply-chain attack on dApp users (no hardware wallet or seed compromised), and Bulletins 023 to 025 in August 2026.

The Nano X is pocketable, and the Titan is about four times the weight. Day-to-day, Bluetooth is faster than scanning QR codes, and the Nano X's tiny two-button screen makes a multi-step review. The Titan's big screen makes the address easy to read, but you scan in both directions for every transaction. Firmware updates on the Titan need a separate Security Adapter and microSD, which is a real chore.
Which Supports More Coins?
ELLIPAL lists 10,000+ tokens across 45+ blockchains and NFTs on Ethereum and Polygon, with a 24-word seed (12, 15, 18, 21 and 24-word restore) and passphrase support. Ledger lists 500+ coins directly in its app and thousands via 50+ third-party wallets. The units differ (tokens against coins), so the headline numbers do not compare. If you hold XRP, Ledger's Flex page names it; for the Nano X confirm in the app's coin list. Oleg's XRP is on a Trezor and a Tangem, not either of these.

The Nano X is $70 cheaper and ships faster, with Canadian retailers. Ledger's own duty terms were not stated, and ELLIPAL's duty terms are unknown, so budget for CBSA tax above CAD 20 (non-US) or CAD 40 (US). Buy the Nano X through my Ledger Nano X link, and the Titan from ellipal.com. For a smaller ELLIPAL, see my ELLIPAL X-Card review.
How Do They Work With Canadian Exchanges?
Both give you a receive address. Kraken asks about the destination wallet on CAD 1,000+ withdrawals, and Newton makes you verify addresses in its Address Book first. The CRA does not treat moving coins between your own wallets as a disposition, and you keep records for six years. See my tax guide.
Which Should You Choose?
Choose the Nano X if you want a small, cheaper device with Canadian retailers and Bluetooth. Choose the Titan if you would rather have no wireless radio at all and a big screen, and can live with the weight, the QR routine and the $70 premium. Neither is in my top 7. For that, see the best crypto wallets in Canada, or read ELLIPAL vs Ledger.
