No exchange on my list carries Fasttoken (FTN), so I cannot point you to a verified place to buy it in Canada. Check each exchange's asset list yourself before you move any money, and start with my page on how to buy cryptocurrency in Canada.

I have been trading crypto in Canada since 2016 and have tested 61 exchanges to find the best ways for Canadians to buy FTN. I share what I find on my YouTube channel, OCryptoCanada, and on r/OCryptoCanada. Whether you are new or experienced, this page is meant to help you make an informed choice.

What Is Fasttoken (FTN)?

Fasttoken (FTN) isn’t your everyday crypto, it’s the native token of the Bahamut blockchain, an EVM-compatible layer-1 powering the Fastex ecosystem with staking, DeFi, and iGaming applications. Canadians might be drawn to its versatile utility and growing adoption, whether you’re chilling in Vancouver or out on the Prairies. Quick note: layer-1 tokens like FTN can be volatile, so dig into its ecosystem and market trends before diving in!

I am not quoting a live FTN price here, since it would be out of date within hours. Check the order screen of your platform for the current CAD price, and compare it with the final quote that includes the platform's fee or spread.

Where Can You Buy Fasttoken (FTN) In Canada?

I checked the asset lists of the ranked exchanges whose listing data I hold, and none of them shows FTN. Wealthsimple Crypto publishes no machine-readable list, so I cannot confirm it either way.

Because no registered platform in my table carries FTN, I have no step-by-step buying route to recommend. Registered exchanges add assets over time, so check again before you buy. In the meantime, see how to buy cryptocurrency in Canada for the platforms I do rate.

Should You Buy Fasttoken (FTN) In Canada Right Now?

I cannot give you steps, because no exchange on my list carries FTN. Do not send money to a site that promises it without checking that the platform is on the CSA list of authorized crypto platforms.

What Is Fasttoken (FTN) Used For?

Fasttoken is the native currency of Bahamut, a layer 1, public, EVM-based blockchain, and of the wider Fastex ecosystem, which the project describes as an end-to-end web3-oriented ecosystem including the FTN token, the Fastex exchange and the Bahamut blockchain. On Bahamut, FTN is the token used for staking, and block validators are rewarded in FTN, with gas fees as the main reward.

How Does Fasttoken (FTN) Work?

Bahamut is EVM-compatible and uses a consensus mechanism the project calls Proof of Stake and Activity (PoSA). It adds a parameter beyond stake: activity, represented by the amount of gas used by a validator's smart contract. The chance of becoming the next block validator is determined by a combination of stake and activity, with random selection of validators that the project says protects against potential attacks. The documented validator stake amount is 8,192 FTN.

What Are The Risks Of Holding Fasttoken (FTN)?

  • Ecosystem concentration: the token is tied to the Fastex ecosystem, so its fortunes depend on one company group's products.
  • Novel consensus: PoSA is a custom design that has had less public scrutiny than long-established consensus models. The project publishes a third-party security assessment of its execution and consensus layers, which is worth reading.
  • No verified listing for Canadians: I could not verify FTN on any exchange on my list.
  • Market risk: there is no promise of returns.

Which Wallets Support Fasttoken (FTN)?

The documentation I could reach does not publish a list of supported wallets. Because Bahamut is EVM-compatible, it is designed to work with Ethereum-style tools, but you should confirm on your wallet's own support page that it lists FTN and the Bahamut network before sending anything.

How Do You Move Fasttoken (FTN) From An Exchange To A Wallet?

  1. First confirm that a regulated exchange you can legally use lists FTN. On my list, none does.
  2. If one does, find out which network it uses for FTN withdrawals and pick a wallet that supports that network.
  3. Copy your receive address for that network and paste it into the withdrawal form.
  4. Send a small test amount first.
  5. Do not follow links from social media posts, and use official documentation for any staking steps.

What Should You Check Before Buying Fasttoken (FTN)?

  • The ticker and network. Many tokens share names or tickers with copies, and the same coin can exist on more than one network. Confirm both before you pay.
  • The listing itself. Open the asset page on the exchange and confirm that FTN is tradable against Canadian dollars, or that you will need to buy another coin first and swap.
  • The all-in price. Compare the quote on the order screen with the exchange's fee schedule. A spread is part of the cost, even when the fee line says zero.
  • Withdrawal rules. Some platforms set minimums, fees or hold periods on withdrawals to your own wallet, so read them before you deposit a large amount.
  • Your records. Save the date, amount and CAD value of every purchase. You will need them at tax time.

How Do You Store Fasttoken (FTN)?

For short-term trading, leaving FTN on a registered exchange is fine. For long-term holding, move it to a secure crypto wallet. Exchanges can get hacked, and I have seen it go south. A hardware wallet like Ledger, or a software wallet that supports FTN, keeps it safer. Check the wallet's asset list and network before you send anything, and stash that seed phrase somewhere secure (not your phone!).

How Do You Sell Fasttoken (FTN) In Canada?

To sell, go to the exchange where you hold it. If your coins are in a wallet, send them back to the exchange first, then place a sell order. You can swap FTN for another cryptocurrency or sell it for Canadian dollars if the platform offers that, then withdraw to your bank account. My guide on how to sell or cash out crypto in Canada has the full steps.

Is Fasttoken (FTN) A Good Investment For Canadians?

FTN’s DeFi and iGaming potential is exciting, but markets swing, only risk what you’re okay with losing due to its volatility. Nobody can tell you where the price goes next, and I do not make predictions. If you buy, size the position so a drop does not hurt, and remember that smaller tokens can be thin to trade, which widens the spread when you sell.

Do You Pay Tax When You Buy Fasttoken (FTN) In Canada?

Buying FTN with Canadian dollars is not itself a taxable event. Selling it, swapping it for another coin or spending it can be. The CRA says that, depending on your activities, you may realize business income (or loss) or a capital gain (or loss), and the two are reported differently. Record the date and CAD value of every buy, sale and swap. See my crypto taxation guide and how to report your crypto taxes.

What Changed For Buying Fasttoken (FTN) In Canada In October 2026?

  • Kraken republished its fee schedule, with Pro spot starting at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker.
  • Robinhood closed its WonderFi acquisition, and Coinsquare customers are being moved in phases to the Robinhood app.
