Part of my guide to how to buy crypto in Canada.
What Is Enzyme (MLN)?
Enzyme (MLN) isn’t just another cryptocurrency, it’s the governance token for a DeFi platform that simplifies asset management, letting you run or invest in crypto portfolios like a pro. Canadians might be drawn to its financial savvy and staking rewards, whether you’re in Vancouver or the Prairies. But a quick heads-up: crypto investments are risky, so always weigh the ups and downs before jumping in!
I am not quoting a live MLN price here, since it would be out of date within hours. Check the order screen of your platform for the current CAD price, and compare it with the final quote that includes the platform's fee or spread.
Where Can You Buy Enzyme (MLN) In Canada?
These are the platforms on my scorecard whose asset lists include MLN, in my fixed order. I checked each against the exchange's own listing data in October 2026. Platforms that do not appear here did not show MLN on their asset list, and I only recommend exchanges that do.
| Exchange | Canadian Status | Published Fee | CAD Funding | My Rank | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | CSA-registered (Restricted Dealer) | Up to 1.875% on simple buys, plus spread | Free Interac e-Transfer and EFT | #1 | Buy MLN |
| Kraken | CSA-registered (Restricted Dealer) | Kraken Pro 0.40% maker / 0.80% taker; Instant Buy 1% | Free Interac e-Transfer deposits | #3 | Buy MLN |
Coinbase and Crypto.com publish one global coin list, not a Canadian one. Check the coin in their Canadian app before you fund an account.
Which Registered Exchanges Carry Enzyme (MLN)?
Coinbase For Enzyme (MLN)
9.8/10CSA-registered Coinbase is a CSA Restricted Dealer in all provinces and territories and ranks first on my scorecard at 9.8. Interac e-Transfer and bank EFT are free for adding cash. A simple buy carries a spread plus a Coinbase fee of up to 1.875% depending on payment method, which is about $9.38 on a $500 buy. Custodial Canadian dollar balances are not covered by CIPF or CDIC.
Kraken For Enzyme (MLN)
9.2/10CSA-registered Kraken is a CSA Restricted Dealer and ranks third at 9.2. Interac e-Transfer deposits are free. On Kraken Pro the entry tier is 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker, so a $500 taker buy costs $4.00 and a maker order costs $2.00. Instant Buy is 1%, or $5.00 plus spread. An Interac withdrawal costs CAD 10.
How Do You Buy Enzyme (MLN) In Canada Step By Step?
These steps use Coinbase, the first CSA-registered exchange in the table.
- Sign up at Coinbase. Use the link in the table, then upload a government-issued ID and a selfie, and sometimes proof of address. Verification can take up to 24 hours.
- Deposit Canadian dollars. On Coinbase, Interac e-Transfer or bank EFT is free to add cash. A bank deposit usually avoids the extra cost of a card.
- Search for MLN. Open the trade or buy screen and look for MLN. Check the ticker carefully, because tokens with similar names exist.
- Place the order. Use a market order for speed or a limit order if you want to name your price. Read the fee preview before you confirm.
- Move long-term holdings to your own wallet. Try a small test transfer first. My best crypto wallets for Canadians list covers the options.
Cards are the quickest way to fund, but they usually cost more than a bank deposit, and Canadian banks sometimes block them.
What Is Enzyme (MLN) Used For?
Enzyme is an on-chain asset management protocol. Its vaults are described in the documentation as tokenised envelopes that issue tokens called Shares to depositors. The Shares represent a depositor's participation in the vault, and vault owners can define the rules that govern it. Deploying a vault is free apart from the normal network gas fee for deploying a smart contract.
MLN is the protocol's utility token. Enzyme's tokenomics documentation says it powers the ecosystem and aligns stakeholders, and that users pay fees in MLN to access the platform.
How Does Enzyme (MLN) Work?
The number of MLN a user needs to access the network equals 25 basis points of the assets under management linked to their use of the protocol. Once collected, those tokens are automatically burned. If a user does not pay the fee in MLN, the documentation says the protocol penalises them by diluting their vault shares by 50 basis points.
New supply is also part of the design. Each year, up to 300,600 new MLN can be minted by the minter contract to fund protocol development and growth, and the Enzyme Council DAO reviews grant applications and allocates those funds to projects, developers, maintainers and auditors. The docs say the project plans to evolve and add more utility to MLN, which may involve locking up and staking MLN to make a governance proposal.
What Are The Risks Of Holding Enzyme (MLN)?
- Utility depends on usage: demand for MLN under the fee model depends on how much value flows through Enzyme vaults.
- New issuance: up to 300,600 new MLN a year can be minted for grants, which adds supply.
- Governance by a council: the Enzyme Council DAO allocates the funds, so token holders rely on that body's decisions.
- Smart contract risk: vaults are on-chain contracts and can contain bugs.
- Market risk: there is no promise of returns.
What Fees Do Enzyme Vaults Charge?
Separate from MLN's protocol fee, vault managers can set three kinds of fee for their depositors. A management fee is a periodic payment from subscribers to the manager, calculated as a percentage of assets under management and independent of returns. A performance fee is a percentage of positive returns over a set period, typically a year or a quarter, measured against a high water mark, which is the vault's gross asset value at the time the last performance fee was paid. An entrance fee applies when someone joins. All of these fees are paid out in newly created shares.
That matters if you ever use a vault instead of just holding MLN: the manager sets the fees, so read the vault's fee page before you deposit. The documentation also describes vaults for organisations, where a team can use a vault to manage shared funds under rules it defines.

How Do You Deposit Into An Enzyme Vault?
The documentation walks through investing in a vault. You connect an Ethereum wallet to the Enzyme app, hold some ETH for gas fees, and click Invest on the vault's page. Each vault has a denomination asset, such as WETH, against which all fee benchmarks are measured, and it is the asset you must invest with. You choose an amount, approve the spending permission in your wallet, then submit the contract interaction. Once the transaction is mined, you hold vault shares, which are ERC-20 tokens that let you redeem, with transferability and parameters set by the vault owner.
The docs add a clear warning: investment happens only through that two-step process. Do not send assets directly to a fund contract, because they will show up in the fund but you will have no claim on them to redeem. That is the kind of mistake that is easy to make when you are used to simply sending tokens to an address.
Which Wallets Support Enzyme (MLN)?
MLN is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so it can be held in any wallet that supports Ethereum tokens. Ledger's support documentation says its hardware wallets manage ERC-20 tokens through the Ethereum app, with ETH in the same account to pay network fees. Enzyme's own app lets you connect a wallet to use vaults. I did not find a list of recommended wallets in Enzyme's documentation, so check that your wallet lists MLN on its own support page.
How Do You Move Enzyme (MLN) From An Exchange To A Wallet?
- Set up an Ethereum-compatible wallet and write down the recovery phrase offline.
- Copy your Ethereum address.
- On the exchange, withdraw MLN on the Ethereum network.
- Keep some ETH in the wallet for fees when you send MLN later.
- Send a small test amount first, then the rest.
What Should You Check Before Buying Enzyme (MLN)?
- The ticker and network. Many tokens share names or tickers with copies, and the same coin can exist on more than one network. Confirm both before you pay.
- The listing itself. Open the asset page on the exchange and confirm that MLN is tradable against Canadian dollars, or that you will need to buy another coin first and swap.
- The all-in price. Compare the quote on the order screen with the exchange's fee schedule. A spread is part of the cost, even when the fee line says zero.
- Withdrawal rules. Some platforms set minimums, fees or hold periods on withdrawals to your own wallet, so read them before you deposit a large amount.
- Your records. Save the date, amount and CAD value of every purchase. You will need them at tax time.
How Do You Store Enzyme (MLN)?
For short-term trading, leaving MLN on a registered exchange is fine. For long-term holding, move it to a secure crypto wallet. Exchanges can get hacked, and I have seen it go south. A hardware wallet like Ledger, or a software wallet that supports MLN, keeps it safer. Check the wallet's asset list and network before you send anything, and stash that seed phrase somewhere secure (not your phone!).
How Do You Sell Enzyme (MLN) In Canada?
To sell, go to the exchange where you hold it. If your coins are in a wallet, send them back to the exchange first, then place a sell order. You can swap MLN for another cryptocurrency or sell it for Canadian dollars if the platform offers that, then withdraw to your bank account. Withdrawal fees differ by platform (Kraken charges CAD 10 for an Interac withdrawal). My guide on how to sell or cash out crypto in Canada has the full steps.
Is Enzyme (MLN) A Good Investment For Canadians?
MLN’s asset management has potential, but crypto’s volatile, only risk what you’re okay losing. Nobody can tell you where the price goes next, and I do not make predictions. If you buy, size the position so a drop does not hurt, and remember that smaller tokens can be thin to trade, which widens the spread when you sell.
Do You Pay Tax When You Buy Enzyme (MLN) In Canada?
Buying MLN with Canadian dollars is not itself a taxable event. Selling it, swapping it for another coin or spending it can be. The CRA says that, depending on your activities, you may realize business income (or loss) or a capital gain (or loss), and the two are reported differently. Record the date and CAD value of every buy, sale and swap. See my crypto taxation guide and how to report your crypto taxes.
What Changed For Buying Enzyme (MLN) In Canada In October 2026?
- Kraken republished its fee schedule, with Pro spot starting at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker.
- Coinbase launched regulated crypto derivatives for eligible Canadian investors. It is not open to ordinary retail accounts.
- The CSA issued an amended decision for Coinbase Canada Inc.
