Bitfarms stock now trades as Keel Infrastructure (KEEL). The Canadian Bitcoin miner moved its legal home from Canada to the United States and rebranded on April 1, 2026, and its shares began trading under the ticker KEEL on both Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange on April 6, 2026. To buy it from Canada, you place an order for KEEL through any brokerage account that trades TSX or Nasdaq stocks.

It is no longer a pure Quebec miner either. Keel describes itself as a North American digital infrastructure and energy company building data centres for high-performance computing and AI, with Bitcoin mining as the legacy business. This page is an explainer, not a price page and not advice.

  • New name and ticker: Keel Infrastructure Corp., KEEL, Nasdaq and TSX
  • Where it operates: Pennsylvania, Washington State and Quebec, per its June 2026 filing

What Happened To Bitfarms Stock?

If you went looking for BITF and found nothing, this is why. Bitfarms shareholders voted on March 20, 2026 to approve an arrangement that moved the company's legal home to the United States and renamed it Keel Infrastructure. About 99.3% of the votes cast were in favour. The deal closed on April 1, 2026, and the new KEEL ticker replaced the old Bitfarms shares at the open on April 6.

For a Canadian holder, the shares carried over into Keel. The ticker, the company's country of incorporation and the way it describes itself all changed. That last part matters more than the name.

What Does Keel Infrastructure Do Now?

In a June 9, 2026 filing, Keel described itself as a digital infrastructure and energy company with a 2.2 gigawatt operating pipeline, with sites in Pennsylvania, Washington State and Quebec. Its stated plan is to build data centres for high-performance computing and AI workloads. Bitcoin mining is still there, but it is described as the legacy operation.

That changes how I think about the stock. Someone who bought Bitfarms to get leveraged exposure to the Bitcoin price now owns a company whose future depends partly on whether it can sign AI and data centre customers and finance the build. It may still move with Bitcoin. It is no longer only a Bitcoin proxy.

How Do You Buy Keel Infrastructure Stock In Canada?

  1. Open a brokerage account that can trade TSX or Nasdaq-listed shares. A crypto exchange cannot sell you this stock, so none of the exchanges in my ranking is the right tool here.
  2. Search for KEEL, not BITF. It is listed on both Nasdaq and the TSX. Check which currency and exchange your order screen shows before you confirm.
  3. Decide on order type. A limit order lets you set the maximum price. Mining and infrastructure stocks can move sharply in a day.
  4. Record the trade. Shares are capital property for most investors, and half of a capital gain is included in income under CRA's current rules. Keep the date, share count and CAD value.

What Is The Current Stock Price Of Bitfarms In Canada?

I will not quote one here, because a price printed in an article is out of date within minutes. Look up KEEL on your brokerage app or on the TSX or Nasdaq website. Searching for the old BITF ticker will often show you stale pages from before the rebrand.

Is Bitfarms A Good Stock To Buy?

I do not give stock advice, and neither should a crypto blog. What I can do is tell you what to check. First, how much of the company's value now depends on Bitcoin mining versus AI and data centre contracts. Second, how it is financed: on June 9, 2026 Keel announced the closing of $458 million of convertible senior notes at 1.250%, due January 15, 2032, with a conversion price of $7.41 per share, and the proceeds are earmarked for data centre development at its Panther Creek, Sharon and Moses Lake sites. Convertible debt can dilute shareholders if converted. Third, the Bitcoin price itself, which still drives mining revenue.

What Is The Forecast For Bitfarms Stock In 2030?

Nobody knows, and the sites that print a precise 2030 target for a mining stock are making it up from a trend line. If you want a view of the sector, read the company's own filings and the Bitcoin price outlook from sources you trust. For many Canadians, owning Bitcoin directly through a registered exchange is a simpler way to get Bitcoin exposure. My guide to buying cryptocurrency in Canada compares the options, and crypto mining in Canada explains the power and tax side of mining itself.

How Does Keel Compare With Hut 8?

Keel Infrastructure And Hut 8, Two Canadian-Origin Miners With US Head Offices
DetailKeel Infrastructure (KEEL)Hut 8 Corp.

Canadian originRedomiciled from Canada on April 1, 2026Formed in October 2017 as a Canadian company
ListingsNasdaq and TSXTSX since October 2019, Nasdaq since July 2021
Business linesBitcoin mining, high-performance computing and AI data centres, energy infrastructureDigital asset mining, high-performance computing and traditional data centres
Scale quoted by the company2.2 gigawatt operating pipeline19 sites across North America

The comparison shows a sector-wide move. Both companies describe themselves as more than miners now, and both have shifted their head offices south of the border. If you hold Canadian mining shares inside a registered account, check which exchange and currency your holding is on, because a company can have a TSX line and a Nasdaq line for the same stock.

What Should You Read Before Buying A Mining Stock?

  1. The latest earnings release and annual report. Look at how much revenue still comes from mining and how much from data centre contracts.
  2. The financing terms. Convertible notes, like Keel's $458 million issue at 1.250% due 2032 with a $7.41 conversion price, can turn into new shares if the stock rises.
  3. The power position. Mining margins depend on electricity cost and contracts. Read where the sites are and how much power is secured. Keel names Panther Creek, Sharon and Moses Lake for its data centre build.
  4. The filing type. After the April 2026 redomiciliation, Keel files US-style reports such as 8-Ks with the SEC, where before it filed 6-Ks as a foreign filer. Search the SEC's EDGAR system for the company name.
  5. The Bitcoin price. It still drives the mining side of the income statement.

How Are Mining Stocks Taxed In Canada?

For most investors, shares are capital property. A sale creates a capital gain or loss, and half of a capital gain is included in income under the CRA's current rules. Schedule 3 needs Canadian-dollar amounts, so if you buy the Nasdaq line in US dollars, convert each purchase and sale to Canadian dollars to work out your cost base and proceeds. Keep your brokerage confirmations. Active traders can be treated as carrying on a business, which changes the rules, and that is a question for an accountant. For coins rather than shares, my crypto taxation guide explains the reporting.

What Changed For Bitfarms Stock In October 2026?

  • Shareholders approved the plan to move to the United States and rebrand as Keel Infrastructure, with about 99.3% of votes cast in favour.
  • Bitfarms completed its redomiciliation to the United States and became Keel Infrastructure Corp.
  • Keel shares began trading on Nasdaq and the TSX under the ticker KEEL, replacing BITF.
  • Keel closed a $458 million convertible senior notes offering, 1.250% due January 15, 2032, to fund data centre projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bitfarms Still A Canadian Company?

Not legally. It redomiciled from Canada to Delaware on April 1, 2026, and now has its executive office in New York City. Its shares still trade on the TSX as well as Nasdaq.

What Is The New Ticker For Bitfarms?

KEEL, on Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange, since April 6, 2026. The old BITF ticker no longer trades.

Does Keel Infrastructure Still Mine Bitcoin?

Yes. Its June 2026 filing lists Bitcoin mining as the legacy operation, alongside high-performance computing and AI data centre development and energy infrastructure.

Can I Buy Keel Or Bitfarms Stock On A Crypto Exchange?

No. It is a listed stock, so you need a brokerage account that trades TSX or Nasdaq shares. Crypto exchanges sell coins.

What Is A Simpler Way To Get Bitcoin Exposure?

Buy Bitcoin directly on a registered Canadian exchange, or use a Bitcoin ETF through a brokerage account. Both avoid company-specific risk.

Will Bitfarms Go Up Or Down?

I cannot tell you, and I distrust anyone who claims a precise target. Mining income follows the Bitcoin price, and the new data centre plan adds financing and execution risk.
